Mission Statement

It is the Mission of Christiana Community Ambulance Association, Inc. to establish and maintain services and facility to provide for the emergency care and transportation of persons suffering from illnesses or injuries which require transportation of those persons to in-or-outpatient health care institutions.

To carry on any educational activities related to the rendering of such care for the promotion of health, which in the opinion of the Board of Directors, may be justified by the facilities, personnel, funds, or other requirements that are, or can be made, available. To participate, as far as circumstances may warrant, in any activity designed and carried on promoting the general health of the community.

To promote the general health of the community by making available its services, resources and facilities to those persons who may not be able to pay for services rendered and not exclusively to those who are association members or who are otherwise able and expected to pay, to the extent of the financial ability of the Corporation to do so.

The Corporation shall not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distribution of statements) any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office. Notwithstanding the provision of these articles, this Corporation shall not, except to an insubstantial degree, engage in any activities or exercise any powers that are not in furtherance of the purposes of the Corporation.

It is the further purpose of Christiana Community Ambulance Association, Inc. to promote the maintenance of optimal personal health by making available to the residents of the community comprehensive emergency treatment and transportation services and resources aimed at caring for persons having specific diseases or who have sustained specific trauma, reducing debilitation and discomfort, and improving individual health in a manner which is responsive to the needs and desires of the persons being served, and which reduces the impact of cost as a barrier to securing such needed resources and services. The services and resources shall be made available without regard to race, creed, sex, national origin or political conviction, and the Corporation further shall extend its services to the economically disadvantaged and medically underserved population of the local community to the maximum extent practicable.
